Choosing the right baby birthday gift

You think you’ve come across the perfect baby birthday gift when you’ve just realised something – while the little melody it plays might be cute right now, after hearing it all day long the parents might be tempted to throw it out. Because of course, buying a baby birthday gift isn’t just about the baby, it is also about the parents as well.

An obvious option is clothing. Whether you’re just getting a couple of t-shirts or something a little more special like a bathrobe there are plenty of adorable baby birthday gifts to choose from. Babies grow very quickly so clothing can be a particularly expensive part of adulthood – this makes a little pair of trousers or shoes a very helpful baby birthday gift.

Something less practical, but equally adorable is a soft toy. If you find the perfect soft toy your baby birthday gift will become something the baby cannot live without. Licensed soft toys of film or television characters can be quite expensive, and a baby will not yet be old enough to appreciate them. You can save money on a simple animal soft toy and still have a high quality baby birthday gift.

If you’d rather get something for the parents to enjoy, and something that will also last a bit longer, a photo frame or photo album makes a great baby birthday gift. If you have your own photos of the baby don’t hesitate to include some of these yourself. While you might think that the baby won’t be able to enjoy this gift, when they are older they will be able to look back with fond memories.

As much as you think another soft toy will make the perfect baby birthday gift, the parents might find it hard to wade through the mound of teddy bears that have started materialising in their home. Since buying a baby birthday gift is just as much about getting something that the parents will value, you should probably try and find out what they need before purchasing the giant teddy bear.
